Franklin is a large city located 20 miles south of Nashville. It is positioned in Williamson County along Highway 65. According to the United States Census Bureau, Franklin was populated by approximately 74,794 people in 2016. Franklin is the largest city in Williamson County. 

The City of Franklin is a historic city. It was founded in 1799 and named in honor of Benjamin Franklin who was a close friend of Dr. Hugh Williamson, a member of the Continental Congress and the namesake of Williamson County.
