In northern Tennessee is a small city known as White House. It is positioned in Robertson and Sumner counties, about 25 miles north of Nashville. According to the United States Census Bureau, White House was populated by approximately 11,388 people in 2016. 

White House is in a region of Tennessee originally inhabited by Native American Indians. Eventually, peoples of European descent arrived in the area of White House and constructed homes. The land White House sits on was purchased by Richard Stone Wilks, a Virginia settler, in the early 1800s. A community was developed on the land and made successful by the Carter, Thomas, and Hough Stagecoach Company which carried passengers through the area. In 1921, the community became an incorporated city.
